Reuben Miles has been in business for 8 years and has worked in the construction industry for almost two decades.
He served his apprenticeship time as a joiner in Manchester and at Faslane, working 18 months on the renovation of the
Victoria and Albert Hotel and 18 months at Faslane. This provided Reuben with the opportunity to gain many traditional
woodworking skills not always available to apprentices today, where much of their training revolves round the erection of
modular buildings.
On completion of his apprenticeship he worked in Germany for 6 years followed by a further 2 years in Holland where much of the work he did was on listed buildings and stately homes. On returning to Scotland he set up his own business and completed a number of contracts in Edinburgh before returning to Harris for a house renovation contract plus the construction of a traditional Post & Beam building.
Reuben has established a company which specialises in bespoke Post and Beam buildings, roof restorations and renovations producing traditional joinery using traditional methods combining modern techniques and materials where appropriate. The company is committed to producing quality craftsmanship as well as providing a unique personal and professional service. Close links have been established with local companies who specialise in traditional design.
